Sympathy for the Skin Body Lotion

Sympathy for the Skin Body Lotion

Lush Description 2014
Generous banana custard body cream. Eleven years old and still as popular as ever, Sympathy for the Skin is probably the only banana custard body cream in the universe, and almost definitely the only one with real, organic mashed bananas in it. We use real bananas to make skin softer, even if they're a bit of a menace to mash. Smooth our nutritious cream all over your body and go absolutely bananas.

Lush-pedia Review
Wow, I am not surprised at all that this lotion has stuck around for so long! It's a smooth lotion with a thinner consistency and little speckles of something (I'm not sure what?) but it's okay, they don't stick to you and the lotion sinks in nicely to your skin, making it really moisturised without being greasy or leaving any residue at all. And that smell! It's delicious, it really is like creamy banana custard, but it's not an overwhelming smell and while I wouldn't mind if this was even stronger I know some Lush fans will love that this one isn't over the top (not that banana custard could ever be too much), and it lingers on your skin afterwards. I love using this one on my arms before I go to bed because I sleep with my arm tucked under my head and this makes bed time a real treat!

Celebrate Body Lotion

Celebrate Body Lotion

Lush Description 2014
Celebrate the festive season with this beautiful unpreserved hand and body lotion.  Rich and wonderfully emollient, the cocoa butter and almond oil will replenish and moisturise your skin, while the intoxicating cocktail inspired fragrance uplifts your spirits.  Brazilian orange oil and lime oil tones the skin and lifts you out of the winter blues while cognac oil gets you into the party mood.

Lush-pedia Review
This holiday special has come out in the Christmas/ Christmas in July range a few times in the last few years. It shares its scent with the Golden Wonder bath bomb. I was lucky to snag this last Christmas in July because my local Lush shop only received 8 in total! In all honesty I wasn't the biggest fan of the scent even while I was in the shop, but knowing there were only 8 and still being undecided I brought it home with me, and I'm not disappointed. The Golden Wonder bath bomb is not one that I could appreciate the scent of until I decided to pop a whole one in the bath one day (mostly because even having bought it in the half price xmas sale I regretted it a little because I hadn't fallen in love with it at all and didn't mind using the whole thing up in one bath), BUT after this I now love this bath bomb! It created one of the best shows any Lush bath bomb has, it's a larger cube so it fizzed for quite a while and had lots of little stars, and made the water a bright blue/ green. That has nothing to do with the lotion, but I think maybe this is the reason that I started exploring this scent now. Surprisingly, I have actually used the lotion a few times now in the short time I have had it and while it's definitely not my favourite Lush lotion, I do like it. It feels nice, it's moisturising and smooth on the skin. It has a thicker consistency than other lotions, and I think mostly what I can smell in it is Cognac? I wouldn't say it's really a sweet scent but it's growing on me and the lotion is nice.

Dream Cream

Dream Cream

Lush Description 2014
This simple cream works like a dream on upset skin: cooling and soothing ingredients like oat milk, rose water and chamomile blue oil calm down hot and itchy skin. That’s why it’s one of our bestsellers, with many of you telling us it gives great relief from eczema. We steep oats in hot water to make oat milk. Oats have long been used to treat eczema and cool skin down as they contain antihistamines, and we've added extra nourishment in the form of rose water, cocoa butter, organic extra virgin olive oil, and vegetable glycerine.

Lush-pedia Review
This is one of Lush's plainest body creams in regards to scents, the smell is creamy and nice but not strong at all, really good if you find the scents of other products a little overwhelming. The actual cream is exactly how Lush describe it, very soothing and moisturising without being greasy at all. Even though 90% of my addiction to Lush comes from the scent alone I still love using this lotion, and I do so regularly, so the cream itself is pretty amazing and I highly recommend it.

Sikkim Girls Body Cream

Sikkim Girls Body Cream

Lush Description 2014
This beautifully perfumed body cream is scented with our Gorilla perfume of the same name, inspired by the Sikkim girls – women so alluring and mysterious that they can seduce a man with just the subtle sway of their hips. Darjeeling tea, vanilla and jasmine are blended with creamy butters and organic hemp oil to moisturise and soften. This a beautiful way to get perfume onto your skin, try stroking it over the throat and arms for an instant effect.

Lush-pedia Review
I was lucky enough to receive this limited edition cream from a Lush prize pack. The scent was completely new to me and while I wasn't a big fan of it right away I can appreciate that this would be a dream come true for anyone who likes the perfume with the same scent. It has a very strong floral perfumey scent. It's a cream too so it's thicker and probably more moisturising than some of the lotions. Although I have had this for quite a few months now I have to admit I have found myself reaching for other lotions first, but it's one I like having on the shelf to sniff as I walk past. My favourite products from Lush share sweet, fruity or foody scents and this one just doesn't fit the bill but it's one I know many others will appreciate.

Olive Branch Body Lotion

Olive Branch Body Lotion

Lush Kitchen Description 2014
Give your skin a peace offering with this conditioning body lotion loaded with skin-softening almond oil, cocoa butter, and citrus oils. Just like our Olive Branch shower gel, the sunny scents of bergamot, mandarin and lemon oils will take you on a refreshing trip to the Mediterranean.

Lush-pedia Review
After many failed attempts to find one of these on Ebay after finding a few that were not being shipped to Australia (it took me a few months to discover the Kitchen so I was getting very confused when these very limited edition although recently made products kept popping up for sale), I finally got one (or two...). I love it, it smells just like Olive Branch shower gel, and the scent definitely isn't overpowering, although anything Olive Branch scented I say the stronger the better! Olive Branch smells very naturally sweet and citrussy but it's a soft citrus scent, not sharp like Calacus. If you've tried the Pop in the Bath bubble bar this lotion is like a stronger version of this scent. It has a thinner consistency than other Lush lotions which I like but it is very moisturising and it does take a little longer to sink in than some other lotions do so you might want to let it soak in before getting dressed so that the oils don't stain your clothes. I don't mind this at all though, I put this lotion on right before getting dressed and I haven't found that it leaves any oily marks at all, I just hope it will make my clothes smell nice too!

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner

Lush Description 2014
A beautiful, rose jam scented body conditioner that’s full of the most emollient, moisturising ingredients possible to feed and nourish the skin.  There’s cypress oil, capuacu butter, Brazil nut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter and super softening almond oil, along with Argan oil of course, which is rich in vitamin E and incredibly moisturising and soothing on the skin.  There’s also a touch of spring water to cool the skin down.  The 20% glycerine locks in all this moisture, leaving your skin soft, smooth, supple and the fragrance leaves you delicately scented like a rose bush being kissed by the first rays of morning sun.

Lush-pedia Review
As much as I have always loved this lotion I don't think I fully appreciated it until I learned recently that it is basically Rose Jam scented lotion (all that hassling the Kitchen to make Rose Jam lotion when it was right in front of me the whole time!). I don't know how I could not have realised this earlier, it only occurred to me after someone else asked for this lotion and the Kitchen staff suggested that they try Ro's Argan. The ingredients to scent this lotion are similar to those of the Rose Jam bubbleroon and shower gel. It's a sweet, floral jam scent, it doesn't smell synthetic at all but it's not a fresh or sharp rose or jam scent at all, it smells way more delicious and very edible, more like jam mixed up with cream. It's hard to explain but I love it. It also feels great on your skin, it melts in fast, keeps you very moisturised and isn't greasy. This is one of my all time favourite Lush products and I'm really glad it appears in so many of the gift packs because it means I have developed quite a healthy backup stash!

American Cream Body Lotion

American Cream Body Lotion

Lush Kitchen Description 2014
Bring all the boys to the yard with this deliciously creamy, vanilla milkshake scented body lotion. This exclusive Kitchen product has the same fragrance as the ever-popular American Cream hair conditioner; lovingly made with rich, conditioning ingredients like Fair Trade vanilla absolute from the Rwenzori Mountains, and Fair Trade organic cocoa butter from the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó in Colombia, to give you super-soft, extremely yummy smelling skin.

Lush-pedia Review
This smells exactly like American Cream conditioner, it's just a thicker version of it in a tub. It really does smell delicious, like luxurious thick cream with lots of vanilla, it's a reasonably strong scent but very smooth, not sharp at all. If you're a fan of soaps and lotions that smell 'foody' you will love this one too. Unfortunately I missed out on this one in the Kitchen but I payed a little extra just after that when I found one on Ebay. The one I received was separated, although not very badly. The oils had come to the top and the lotion looked kind of curdled. This had also happened with my comforter lotion which I didn't have success with trying to repair. I rushed American cream into my fridge for a few days and mixed it up really well, because it still smelt delicious. While now the lotion doesn't look separated the consistency still isn't as smooth as it should be but if you've tried the Comforter lotion it is comparable to this or dream cream in texture. This is one of my favourite lotions even though I don't use it as often because of the whole texture thing, but I enjoy having it to smell (especially because I have run out of the conditioner at the moment). Seeing as my American cream lotion came in a pretty bad way I guess this positive review just shows how great the product is, and I can't wait to get my hands on one that I will feel more comfortable actually using.

Sesame Suntan Lotion

Sesame Suntan Lotion

Lush Description 2014
Sumptuous, toasted sesame seed lotion. Sesame oil and a walnut leaf infusion help to increase the skin's melanin production – its natural reaction to sun exposure – which means it will actually help you to tan. Cocoa butter and aloe extract will soothe and nourish the skin, with three broad-spectrum sunscreens to ensure that your skin stays protected, as well as smelling irresistible.

Lush-pedia Review
I received this one as a sample with one of my Kitchen orders recently, I had specifically requested it because I love the scent of sesame, although I have never come across any beauty product with this scent so this product is very unique. As much as I wanted to love it I haven't purchased a full bottle. I was expecting a much lighter scent, kind of like a fresh tub of sesame seeds but this is very strong and a very dark colour (the colour is fine but I was expecting it to be much lighter from the picture on the website). To me it smells like really strong, exotic coffee. The lotion does feel nice though, and for a suntan lotion I don't think it feels greasy and it does sink into the skin fairly quickly. All in all I think I could appreciate this lotion if it weren't so concentrated (maybe I should try and mix some in with Dream Cream), although I wouldn't actually do this because even if it were less of a concentrated scent I don't think it's really for me anyway, it's just too strong! Maybe this will be one of those Lush products I return to in a few months and I have changed my mind about. So I plan on giving it another go later on, but unfortunately for now I don't plan on making this one a permanent addition to my collection, as much as I wanted to love it when ordering the sample.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Lush Description 2013
No bathroom would be complete this Christmas without a bottle of Lush's fruity, sugary and sparkly Snow Fairy shower gel. Candyfloss pink and with a sweet, magical scent of soothing and comforting vanilla, the flecks of blue glitter leave you shimmering.  Wash your hair and body with this sparkling seasonal must-have.

Lush-pedia review
Take Lush's word for it, your bath experience will never be complete until you have tried this. It is just like liquid fairy floss that cleans you. Unlike other lush products I can't sense multiple scents happening in this one, it really is just pink sugary goodness; it is the sweetest shower gel I have found from Lush, and the prettiest (candy floss pink with beautiful little flecks of glitter) and it lathers up really well. I also love washing my hair with this, just so I can get a waft of it every time my hair catches a breeze. Shockingly, I have heard the odd Lush fan not liking this one, and while I struggle to comprehend this it definitely tips the scales on sweetness so you might not love this one if you don't like strong candy scents. Alternatively, if you can't trust yourself not to try and taste this one (no judgement here) you should team it up with bubblegum lip scrub because this one smells very similar (and you're allowed to lick what's left over!). P.S. When you have the opportunity to purchase Snow Fairy at Christmas time, make sure you get a few because you'll want to use this all the time, and even multiple times within one bath or shower, you can thank me later.

Calacas Shower Gel

Calacas Shower Gel

Lush Description 2014
Blast away the cobwebs & lift your spirits with this uplifting & refreshing citrusy shower gel.  Energizing lime & neroli oils help blast away the cobwebs, putting you in the party mood, while aloe vera is great for leaving the skin soothed & cool.

Lush-pedia review
Recently I was making an order from the Lush Kitchen and this little beauty happened to be on offer. I have never tried it before as it is a discontinued item, and I also haven't tried anything else with this scent from Lush so I decided to add it to my basket as the description of a fruity gel sounded nice and it had good reviews. The bottle I scored is bright yellow and it has a very strong, sharp citrus smell (it smells like it would taste like yellow Starburst lollies!). I love this kind of scent but I could understand how others may find the scent slightly sickly. I couldn't be happier to have this in my collection though and it's a gel I will hoard for years to come (or better yet, stock up if this ever comes on offer again). It lathers up really well too. Overall I highly recommend this and I only wish I knew before I purchased it how great it was or I would have stocked up on more!

Black Pearl Shower Gel

Black Pearl Shower Gel

Lush Kitchen Description 2014
Calm stormy moods with this soothing, shimmering shower gel packed with a double shot of lavender and chamomile. Take a deep breath and blast away dark clouds with an infusion of restful lavender and chamomile. The combination of relaxing olibanum and myrrh with chamomile blue oil and lavender absolute helps to restore balance to both your outlook and your skin, setting you back on course.

Lush-pedia review
Hmm... I'm still not sold on this. Like with some other gels, I ordered this blindly from the kitchen, mostly because I read a review that mentioned something about black sugar and that was enough for me. I also read 'lavender' in the ingredients and thought that it was going to be in the Twilight scent family. I was wrong, but it's not all bad! It has a thicker consistency than other shower gels from Lush (relatable to the consistency of Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel) and is a dark grey colour. It pretty much just smells like very luxurious chamomile lotion mixed with a few other nice things like faint lavender.  It does smell very relaxing, and after overcoming the initial disappointment of it being nothing like Twilight and not being a sweet scent I was able to enjoy it, although after having it over a month I have only reached for it a few times. I like this, but I definitely like other gels from Lush a lot better and in the future I think I would stock up on others instead of this one if it were ever available again. Don't get me wrong though, I'm still happy to have it kicking around in my collection and it was worth buying it to try it.

Dark Angels Cleanser

Dark Angels Cleanser

Lush Description 2014
This is for those of you who really like to scrub your skin to feel clean, with black sugar and charcoal to exfoliate, and rhassoul mud to deeply cleanse. We also use cold pressed avocado oil and vegetable glycerine to moisturise and soften your skin after all that scrubbing, leaving your skin feeling balanced and fresh. Sandalwood and rosewood oils give a rich, earthy fragrance and have a cooling and antiseptic effect on the skin. We buy our powdered charcoal locally in Dorset. It’s a great way to exfoliate and is deeply cleansing, whilst black sugar is in here to scrub away any dead skin cells, leaving you with bright, refreshed skin.

Lush-pedia review
This cleanser works really well on my skin, especially when I use it every day I can really notice the difference, it's definitely become a favourite of mine. It smells just like sweet charcoal. The cleanser has an antiseptic effect on the skin, it's so cleansing and makes your face feel so fresh and clean, without drying it out at all. The cleanser itself in the tub is fairly dry and crumbly and can be pretty messy to actually apply, but if you can get a chunk of it out of the pot and mix it up with some water in your hands you are through the hardest part. If it's still too crumbly when you are applying it to your face a lot will be lost down the drain. Apart from this it is great. It is very similar to Coalface cleanser which is a solid soap bar form so if the mess would really bother you this may be a better alternative. It is also exfoliating, not scratchy but also not so gentle that it doesn't scrub away dry skin. It's also great value, you don't need much each time at all to get a good scrub and cleanse so the tub lasts quite a while.
